I'm a NYS-certified Visual Art Educator (PreK–12) with an M.S. in Art & Design Education from Pratt Institute and a B.S. in Applied Psychology from NYU
Mission Statement
I am dedicated to utilizing the transformative power of art to enrich students' lives, creating a nurturing environment for self-expression where creativity is celebrated and individuality is esteemed. In my art room, students explore various mediums and contemporary works to investigate the world, deepening their understanding of themselves and their lived experiences. Through exploration and play, they learn to express complex thoughts and emotions while fostering a stronger sense of identity. I firmly believe art education is a vital component of a holistic approach that addresses the needs of the whole child—intellectually, emotionally, and socially. My methods seek to balance two primary goals: developing technical skills as tools for expression and cultivating socio-emotional intelligence. Through justice-oriented education, students engage with and critically assess their environment, becoming socially aware artists who harness their creativity to advocate for positive change.
Pratt Saturday Art School: Middle School Sculpture
Memorializing Objects: Newspaper and Plaster Sculptures
Unit Objective: By sculpting objects with newspaper, tape, plaster, and paint, students will learn that everyday materials can create three-dimensional works through form composition and layering. They will understand how sculptors recreate objects to elevate their status, highlights their significance, and offers viewers a new way of relating to familiar items.

Exploring Identity: Family Portraits and Memories
Unit Objective: By painting a special family memory using tempera, students will learn how to mix and layer paint while composing a background, foreground, and fine details. They will understand that artists can tell a meaningful story about their own identity and personal history through the medium of painting.

Ceramic Exquisite Corpse Monsters
By sculpting monster and animal features with clay and professional tools, students will learn how to use their fingertips and wooden instruments to mold various forms and create texture. They will understand that the process of creating art can be playful, collaborative, and highly imaginative.
Manhattan Youth Arts and Crafts
Sculptural Ceramic Boxes
By sculpting a ceramic box with clay, templates, and rolling pins, students will learn to slab-build a structure and transform it into a functional sculpture using additive and subtractive techniques. They will understand that artists can infuse personal ideas, aesthetics, and interests into their work to create functional art.

Animals in Their Habitat: Pastel Drawings
Unit Objective: By drawing and researching animals and their habitats, students will learn that oil pastels can be used in versatile ways and that a complete drawing includes both foreground and background. They will understand that artists spend time observing their subjects to create detailed, organized compositions.

Let's Build a City: Illustrated Cityscapes
Unit objective:
Through the planning and execution of a large-scale mixed media mural
